Andrew Dosunmu is a name that you may not immediately know. More than likely though you will have seen his direction in music videos for the likes of Les Nubians (Afrodance), Maxwell (Matrimony: Maybe You) and Talib Kweli (Hostile Gospel Pt. 1). Or, if you are familiar with South African TV, you will of course know the hit series, Yizo Yizo, which this Nigerian fashion designer turned filmmaker and photographer also directed. His first feature film, set in Harlem tells the tale of the struggle, passion and love, experienced by young a West African immigrant. Premiered at Sundance in 2011, Restless City has been screened at Dubai International Film Festival and the BFI Film Festival in London, and is to hit local cinema screens worldwide from next Friday.

In this intense twist on the American Dream, director Andrew Dosunmu vividly captures the pulsating dynamic of New York city’s pan-African community […] Restless City is most gripping and powerful in its textures. ~ Hollywood Reporter
